JLR Experience - Range Rover Sport

Tony and I were fortunate enough to go along to a Jaguar Land Rover experience day, where all the models from both manufacturers are available to drive. It's all very overwhelming, when you arrive and see four F-Types lined up alongside Range Rovers and have to decide which ones to drive. However the car we were first drawn to was a no brainer; the all new Range Rover Sport. And what's more, we grabbed the keys for the V8...

This is without a doubt one of the best engines ever made; if only for the noise it makes when you press the loud pedal. It's raw, animalistic noise, and is certainly addictive. So a bit more about the engine then. It's a 5.0-litre, supercharged petrol V8, which produces a whopping 510PS and 625Nm. That's a lot, I assure you, and is enough to rocket the Sport to 62mph in 5.3 seconds, and on to a top speed of 155mph.

Being the Autobiography trim, you are left wanting nothing, as you would not believe the technology found in the car. I particularly liked the media system which was extremely easy to use. The TV's in the front headrests make the rear of the car a nice place to be, and I really liked the alcantara roof lining.

The new Sport handles just like a car. It doesn't feel like a large off-roader (which it is) and that really is remarkable. These new

models are starting to appear on the road more frequently now, although I'm yet to hear one with that V8 noise. One thing's for sure; you'll know if you come across one...
