Following an extensive assessment of the Vauxhall Astra’s engine management system, Superchips’ technicians identified potential for performance enhancements. A combination of in-house dyno development and real-world road testing has resulted in a ‘Stage 1’ ECU remap that delivers impressive punch, adding 23 bhp at 5093 rpm, plus an extra 61 Nm of torque, while retaining all the GM factory electronic failsafes.
On the road the added punch translates into a sharper, even more exciting drive, with a crisper throttle response allied to greater urgency across the rev range. The Superchips upgrade makes the Astra GTC VXR feel even more willing than before, potentially allowing the Vauxhall to better its already impressive 5.8 second 0-62 mph dash.
And it’s easy to realise the benefits of a Superchips ECU remap on the Astra GTC VXR, courtesy of the Bluefin ‘Plug-In and Go’ DIY programming handset, which allows customers to transform their car’s performance in a matter of minutes. No technical skills are required and the original factory ECU remap is stored on the Bluefin handset, enabling Astra GTC VXR owners to revert to standard settings at any time they so wish.
A ‘Stage 2’ variant of this ECU remap is also available, with the calibration tailored to suit Astra GTC VXR 2.0T models fitted with a readily available free flowing aftermarket exhaust system and sports catalyst (sold separately through Superchips’ partner Thorney Motorsport.)
The Stage 2 Superchips ECU remap for the Vauxhall GTC VXR 2.0T achieves excellent gains of 32 bhp at 5698 rpm and 75 Nm of torque at 2935 rpm. All other information and pricing is as per the Stage One version.
Customers can be assured that both Stage 1 and Stage 2 Superchips Vauxhall Astra GTC VXR 2.0T ECU remaps are covered by a full Customer Service Guarantee and an industry-leading 12 month / 30,000 supplementary vehicle warranty.
