Plymouth based Qt Services Ltd revealed a TDV6 version of their Wildcat at the recent 2012 Autosport International show.
This oil-burner is an exhilarating addition to the Wildcat range; giving a new dimension to Qt’s lineup of these off road racers. Taken from the Land Rover Discovery 4, the 3.0 litre twin turbo diesel engine has raised the bar in terms of performance for vehicles in this field of motorsport.
Qt Services is the first manufacturer to successfully integrate this new powerplant into a race-spec car. Qt’s Managing Director, Dave Marsh says, “This new engine has exceeded our expectations. Delivering 316 HP and 513 ft-lbs of torque it produces more than enough power to deal with the toughest off road conditions in the world”.
The integration of the engine in the Wildcat has been successful. This is partly down to the electronic and transmission specialists who have helped the process go smoothly. Qt are looking forward to having two of the new Diesel cars racing in the Tuareg Rally, which kicks off in Spain in March of this year.
There has been strong interest from around the world in this new diesel motor, and the car was a success with visitors to the Autosport International show. Full details of the range of Wildcats can be found at www.qtwildcat.co.uk
